Ayo Edebiri says she wasn’t trying to stir up controversy with Elon Musk post

Ayo Adebiri has clarified that he did not intend to create controversy for his recent post about Elon Musk. The Emmy-winning actress wrote on her Instagram story, “Stop making my Instagram Stories news.” I am just trying to make a fun time. Following Edabiri’s post, in which he claimed that Musk’s response to a fictional report about the site of Johnny Depp in the Caribbean franchise’s pirates resulted in “crazy death threats and racial slurs” as a result. The fictional report of February 2024 was re-shared by Edabiri, in which Musk replied, “Disney is useless.”
After that, he wrote, “Just remembering when I found some of my life-threatening and racial slurs (IDK if it’s the #1 moment, but of course for the top 3) I had never heard of this man for the fake reboot of a film.” She was referring to the time when she was threatened. Edabiri also made fun of Musk’s controversial hand gestures and called him an “idiot” and a “double seg heel-ing fascist”. Edebiri clarified that she was just doing “foolishly mindless time” with Musk Post when her post became popular. On the work front, the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is still uncertain. Many ideas are floating all around, including a brand-native artist; also included is the possibility of a reboot.
