In a crushing win over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry increased her lead as the biggest long-range shooter in basketball history, becoming the first player to score 4,000 three-pointers in the NBA. After scoring 25,000 career points on Saturday, Curry required only two threads in the Thursday game to reach a mark of an unprecedented 4,000 points. The four-time NBA champion revolutionised the art of three-point shooting. Curry, who turned 37 on Friday, took his time before completing the last few stages of his journey to a scoring milestone, which was considered unimaginable. Warriors star hit his first three-pointers late at night in the first quarter. He did this peacefully from 26 feet, causing his career to 3,999. It was only one of the three-pointers by Curry in the first half, as the Warriors took a 61-51 lead at the break.
But then he appreciated the crowd at the Chase Centre of San Francisco and gave a permanent ovation in the third quarter, as he eventually reached 4,000 points, fell 27 feet in a bucket at a distance of 27 feet to 72-63 in the remaining time with 8 min 19.
“It was a special moment; obviously, it is to do it at home,” Curriyers told TNT television after the Warriors’ 130–104 victory.
“I did not get many attempts till the third, so it was a strange game. However, the energy was extraordinary,” Curry, who made just 11 points, said. Chasing 5,000?
