“Perplexity is uniquely positioned to rebuild the TikTok algorithm without creating a monopoly,” says AI startup

San Francisco: AI Startup Perplexity has expressed interest in buying TikTok, underlining the plan to recreate its algorithm, as the popular video app faces an American deadline to ban its Chinese owner or risk it.
In a blog post, Perplexity designed a vision outline to integrate its AI-operated Internet search abilities with the popular video-sharing app.
“The combination of the North Engine of Perplexity with the extensive video library of Ticketkok will allow us to create the best search experience in the world,” said the San Francisco-based company. “Without creating a perplexity monopoly, the Tikokok algorithm is specifically deployed to maintain a monopoly, a combination of world-class technical capabilities with little technical freedom.”
Earlier this month, President Donald Trump said that the United States was interacting with four groups interested in achieving TikTok, as the Chinese-owned app faces an uncertain future in the country.
An American law has ordered Ticketok to be divided by its Chinese owner’s teachings or banned in the United States.
“We are working with four different groups. And many people want it, and it is above me,” Trump said, the Air Force riding on one.
He said, “All four are good,” without giving any of them. The law banning TikTok on January 19 affected concerns that the Chinese government may exploit the video-sharing platform to spy on Americans or affect American public opinion.
During his first term at the White House, Trump similarly tried to ban TikTok on national security grounds in the United States.
TikTok temporarily shut down in the United States and disappeared from the App Store as the deadline of the law for the collapse of millions of users.
