Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris in the 2024 US presidential election
In addition to several other former officials and critics, US President Donald Trump canceled security approval from his democratic rivals, Kamla Harris and Hillary Clinton, who had lost the election earlier. Trump said that in February, he was canceling security approval for his predecessor Biden.
His order confirmed the decision, saying that he was also canceling the security approval of “any other member” of the Biden family.
According to Trump’s memorandum, “I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to reach classified information.” Former US Presidents and top security officials usually keep their safety approval as a courtesy.
Trump ordered the leaders of the department and agency to “cancel the unconnected access to these individuals to secure the facilities of the United States government.”
According to the order, “this action is involved, but it is not limited, the attainment of the classified briefing, such as the President’s daily brief” and the nominated persons as a result of the pre-Congress membership of any member of the intelligence community access to the classified information organized by any member of the intelligence community.
Loss of access to classified places and materials will have a more symbolic effect on many designated data. This can limit materials that they are capable of reviewing, or can restrict access to some government buildings or safe features.
The lawyer and prosecutor nominated by Trump, however, may potentially face obstacles in reaching or reviewing information for their cases or customers.
Trump’s rebellion focuses on top Biden administration officials, as well as major political critics and lawyers who have challenged Trump or his colleagues in court.
