President Donald Trump’s top change marketing consultant Peter Navarro said Wednesday that the White House is transferring in “Trump time” as they negotiate a tariff address India, “that’s to mention, as rapidly as possible.”
“In Indian democracy, it’s got to go through the prime minister and the parliament, we aren’t able to simply try this, but we’re transferring in Trump time, which is to mention as fast as possible,” Navarro informed Expressepaper ’Squawk on the Street. ′
Navarro stated that the trade deal with India is “near.”
A day earlier, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that Washington would remain in on a trade deal with New Delhi.
The feedback comes as investors and consumers develop more and more skeptical that Trump can execute a series of bilateral change agreements, which he promised to do, while he unveiled his aggressive tariff regime earlier this month.
Businesses had hoped the White House would strike deals with America’s biggest trading partners earlier than Trump’s big tariffs cut American importers and exporters off from international markets, and slashed the U.S. Monetary boom.
U.S. Gross Domestic Product fell to zero.3% inside the first sector of the 12 months, fueled by policy uncertainty around Trump’s alternative wars.
On Tuesday, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick claimed that one change deal had already been hammered out. But he could not say which use of it becomes with.

The White House has not divulged any specifics of what a possible alternate cope with India may look like.

Vice President JD Vance traveled to India last week, where he met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders “made a few very good developments,” Bessent said on Tuesday.
Navarro, who said that he’s not an “active part of the negotiation at the desk,” but is “very plugged in to what’s being carried out,” stated U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer is “operating very intently” with Lutnick.
“The president is the master strategist, the commander in chief. I’m simply here to serve and assist him to do what he desires to do in what is probably the highest-quality way feasible, both tactically and strategically,” Navarro stated.
